Ambassador Mohammed Ahmad Al-Hayki presenting his Letters of Credence to President David Granger

President David Granger, today, invited the State of Qatar to examine ways of investing in the development of the emergent oil and gas sector. He made these remarks when he accepted the Letters of Credence from Mr. Mohammed Ahmad Al-Hayki, accrediting him as the new Non-Resident Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Guyana. Checklist for Registration of Friendly Societies

1) One (1) copy of the Rules/Constitution of the Society.

2) Datasheet for proposed officers’ of the Society (three (3) type written and one (1) hand written.

3) Two application forms of the said Society.

4) Three (3) Copies of one (1) Proof of Address for Persons on Datasheet (Black & White).

5) Three (3) Coloured Copies of Identification Card for Persons on Datasheet.

6) Three (3) passport size photographs (same) of the Persons on Datasheet (must be certified by Head teacher/J.P/Pastor/Senior Public Service Official).

7) Names on Datasheet, ID card, Photographs & Proof of Addresses must be the same or documents to support if different.

8) Copy of a five (5) year Business Plan for the Society.

THIRD SCHEDULE

MATTERS TO BE PROVIDED FOR THE RULES OF A REGISTERED SOCIETY

  1. Name and place of office of the Society
  2. The whole of the objects for which the Society is to be established, the purposes of which the funds thereto shall be applicable, the terms of admission of members, the conditions under which any member may become entitled to any benefit assured thereby, and the fines and forfeitures to be imposed on any member.
  3. The mode of holding meetings and right of voting, and the manner of making, altering or amending Rules.
  4. The appointment and removal of a Committee of Management (by whatever name) and of a Treasurer and other Officers, and, in the case of a Society with branches, the composition and powers of the central body, and the conditions under which a branch may secede from the Society.
  5. The investment of funds, the keeping of the accounts, and audit thereof once a year at Financial least.
  6. The making of Annual Returns to the Registrar, of the receipts, funds, effects, and returns expenditure, and the number of members of the Society.
  7. The inspection of the books of the Society by every person having an interest in the on books funds.
  8. The manner in which disputes between the Society and any member, or shareholder, or of dispute any person claiming through a member under the Rules, shall be settled.
  9. In the case of a dividing Society, a provision for meeting, all claims upon the Society profits existing at the time of division before the division takes place.

Foreign Affairs Ministry develops Investment Assessment Tool for Guyana

With Guyana’s new frontier—oil—the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has found it necessary to work even harder than before to protect Guyana’s sovereignty. This, coupled with the economic diplomacy that the APNU+AFC government has been forging, is keeping the Ministry’s staff on the proverbial good foot.

GUYANESE of Chinese heritage as well as Chinese nationals living here on Friday turned out in their numbers to celebrate the 165th Anniversary of their arrival on these shores as indentured labourers.
The activity was a collaborative effort of the Government of Guyana and the Chinese Association of Guyana.
